To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday)

  • phone us on 01782 593 344, Monday to Friday, when we are open
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday, when we are open
  • use your Patient Access account (on the Patient Access website)

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Routine appointments

To request a routine appointment in the next 7 days

  • phone us on 01782 593 344, Monday to Friday, when we are open
  • visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist, Monday to Friday, when we are open
  • use our appointment request form, Monday to Friday. Answer a few short questions and we will get back to you within 2 working days. Please do not use this online form for urgent or emergency requests. The submitted forms will only be read during our opening hours. The forms will not be read on the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) or on bank holidays. They will not be read Monday to Friday between the hours of 6pm to 9am.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email.

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means the doctor or nurse can help you sooner.

We offer Doctor & Advanced Nurse Practitioner appointments Monday to Friday, 4:15pm to 8:15pm and Saturdays.

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Walk in centres

The Haywood Hospital in Burslem provides a range of outpatient and clinical services. The walk in centre provides care for minor injuries and ailments, it is open 24 hours a day, and you do not need an appointment. Please be aware that sometimes staff at the Haywood may not be able to treat your condition and they may refer you to A&E or North Staffs. Urgent Care (out of hours Doctors), Basford.

Dental problems

Please try to avoid calling the surgery with dental complaints, such as abscess or toothache. To get the most effective treatment, and to prevent the problem recurring you need to see a dentist. Locally there is a dental advice line for patients who are not registered with a local dentist. Emergency Dentist : 0300 123 0995

Emergencies

The A&E department of The University Hospital of North Midlands is provided for genuine medical emergencies. It has excellent facilities including an emergency eye clinic, but remember it provides emergency medical treatment for a very large geographical area so often waiting times are long, so please consider this carefully when making your decision to attend A&E.

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.
