University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust
City General, Newcastle Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 6QG. uhnm.nhs.uk
The A&E department of The University Hospital of North Midlands is provided for genuine medical emergencies. It has excellent facilities including an emergancy eye clinic, but remember it provides emergancy medical treatment for a very large geographical area so often waiting times are long, so please consider this carefully when making your decision to attend A&E.

The Haywood Hospital in Burslem provides a range of outpatient and clinical services.
The walk in centre provides care for minor injuries and ailments, it is open 24 hours a day, and you do not need an appointment.
Please be aware that sometimes staff at the Haywood may not be able to treat your condition and they may refer you to A&E or North Staffs. Urgent Care (out of hours Doctors), Basford.

Out-of-Hours Emergencies Tel: 111
When you ring the practice out of hours, you will be asked to call 111 which is a free number to call.

Only continue with the call if it is a genuine medical emergency. 111 covers a very wide area so the service is under a lot of pressure. If your problem can wait until the morning, contact the surgery then, and we will be happy to help.
111 does not have access to patient medical records, so try to have as much information to hand regarding the patient as possible when you call.
